The Promise

The world had become a very dark place. People had turned away from God, and the earth was filled with violence. But one man still walked with God — Noah. God told Noah: “Build a huge boat. I will send a flood, but you and your family will be safe.” So Noah obeyed. While he worked, people laughed at him. “Why are you building a giant boat on dry land?” they mocked. But Noah kept listening to God, not the crowd.

Finally, the ark was finished. Animals came two by two — lions and lizards, elephants and eagles, hopping, crawling, and flying inside. Then the rain poured down for forty days and nights. Water covered the earth, but Noah, his family, and the animals were safe inside the ark. When the flood was over, God placed a rainbow in the sky — a sign of His promise never to flood the whole earth again.

Hebrews 11:7 “By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family.

Significance

The ark was God’s rescue plan for Noah. Jesus is God’s rescue plan for us! Just like the ark saved Noah from the flood, Jesus saves us from sin and gives us life forever with Him.

Application

Sometimes following God means others may laugh at us or not understand. But like Noah, we can choose to obey God anyway. God always keeps His promises, and He blesses those who stay faithful to Him.

GUIDED PRAYER

“Lord, thank You for keeping Your promises. Thank You for sending Jesus to rescue me, just like You rescued Noah. Help me obey You, even if others laugh or don’t understand. I want to walk with You all my life. Amen.”
