Making Lemonade

When Joseph was young, his brothers were jealous of him and sold him into slavery. Things only got harder from there. He was taken far from home, falsely accused, and even thrown into prison.
It would have been easy for Joseph to think God had forgotten him. But God was with Joseph every step of the way. Years later, God used Joseph's difficult journey to save many people from famine—including the very brothers who had hurt him.
Joseph learned that even when life doesn't go the way we planned, God is still working behind the scenes for good.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." — Romans 8:28

Significance

Life doesn't always hand us sweet things. Sometimes we face disappointments, challenges, hurt feelings, or things that seem unfair.
But God is able to take hard situations and use them for His glory and our good. He can bring hope, growth, and purpose from things we never would have chosen ourselves.

Application

Think about a time something didn't go your way.
• How did it make you feel?
• Did God teach you anything through it?
• How can you trust Him even when things are hard?
This week, when something frustrating happens, stop and pray:
"Jesus, help me trust that You are working for good, even when I can't see it yet."

GUIDED PRAYER

Dear Jesus,
Thank You that I can bring every problem to You.
Help me trust You when life feels hard. Help me remember that You are good, even when I don't understand what You're doing.
Thank You that You can take difficult situations and use them for good. Thank You that nothing is wasted in Your hands.
When life gives me lemons, help me remember that You are still working.
Please give me patience, joy, and faith to trust Your plan.
I love You, Jesus.
