Free Indeed

On the 4th of July, we celebrate freedom in our country. We wave flags, watch fireworks, and remember the brave people who fought so we could live in a free nation.
Freedom means we can speak, worship, gather, and live without fear. But the Bible teaches us something even greater.There is a freedom that doesn’t come from a country.It doesn’t come from laws.It doesn’t come from people. It comes from Jesus. When Jesus died and rose again, He broke the chains of sin and fear. He made a way for us to be forgiven, loved, and made new.
That means no mistake is too big. No fear is too strong. No past is too heavy. When the Son sets you free — you are free indeed. And that freedom lasts forever.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36

Significance

Freedom in Christ is everything.
Because of Jesus, we are:
• Free from fear
• Free from shame
• Free from sin
• Free to love
• Free to forgive
• Free to live bravely
The world can change. Governments can change. But the freedom Jesus gives can never be taken away. That’s the kind of freedom worth celebrating.

Application

Grab paper and crayons.
1. Draw big fireworks in the sky.
2. Inside each firework, help your child say one thing Jesus helps them with.
Examples for little ones:
• Jesus helps me when I feel scared.
• Jesus helps me tell the truth.
• Jesus helps me be kind.
• Jesus helps me obey.
• Jesus helps me when I feel alone.

GUIDED PRAYER

Jesus, thank You for the freedom we have in our country.Thank You even more for the freedom we have in You.Help us live bravely, love boldly, and remember that true freedom comes from You.
