Wonder

God created our world by merely speaking. He said, "let there be light!" and light came to be. He called forth the Earth and all its beauty - from the clouds to the oceans to the mountains. He then created people and told them to rule over the Earth and to take care of it. The Earth is filled with both the glory of God and people who He made in His likeness. It is these people whom He loved the most and sent His Son, Jesus, to die for. In the end, the mountains, oceans, and clouds will all be remade, but God's people will live a second life forever, and it is our job to tell them about the great gift of salvation so they'll live in on a New Earth with their Creator, forever.

Significance

Understanding God made this world and entrusted it to us is a big deal. He is expecting us to take care of the Earth that He is letting us borrow until Jesus returns.

Application

Since God placed mankind over the Earth we should take care of it - including its animals. The bible says a righteous person has regard for his/her animals. Are you feeding your dog or cat? Are you cleaning your fish' tank? Are you keeping litter out of your yard and taking care of the plants around the house? Doing all of these things will be pleasing to God!

Genesis 1 & 2 Proverbs 12:10

Heavenly Father, thank you for this Earth, for my animals, for my food, and everything else you've given to me. I also thank you for my friends, my family, and the ones I will meet throughout my life. Please bless all of these things, and help me take care of them in order to glorify you!
