Ark and rainbow- The Promise

A long time ago the Earth was filled with wicked people. That means they did bad things all the time. Even their thoughts were only ever about violence - hurting others and displeasing God! But there was one faithful man found named Noah. He and his family was given the big job of creating a large boat called the Ark. This ship would take care of Noah's family and also a pair of every animal on Earth, because God was about to flood the world in order to wipe out all the wicked people. Just as promised, the rain came, but Noah and his cargo were safe, and when the water receded they were able to start populated the world again with new life.

Significance

There are real consequences for our sin. The bible says the wages of sin, or what sin earns us, is death. But God is merciful and provided a way for those who believe in Him to be saved. The Ark is a great picture of how Jesus saves us from our sin and its consequence of eternal death.

Application

Make up your mind on who you want to serve the rest of your life. Is it the world, and all the things in it that tries to come between us and God, or is it the Lord? Faithfully following God, no matter how difficult it may seem, is always rewarded.

Genesis 6:9-9:17

God, thank you for saving my life by the blood of Jesus. Please help me be brave like Noah, to hear your voice and do what you ask of me. I want to be part of your plan for this world, and I give you my life to use me how you want!
